At around 10:15 AM, the police received a report that shots had been fired at a window of the fish shop. Employees found glass damage at the front door when they opened the shop. The police cordoned off the area around the shop as a precaution. Forensic experts conducted an investigation. The shooting likely occurred during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Last August, the fish shop was also shot at twice. Both times the shop was closed and no one was present. To restore peace in the neighborhood, Mayor Halsema decided to close the shop for six months.
The owner of the fish shop has since filed a report, and the investigation team is looking into the case. Residents with camera footage are asked to come forward.
