Around 4:30 AM, a car was stolen at Erasmus Medical Center. Using the roadside camera system (ANPR), the car was identified around 9:45 AM. The police initiated a pursuit. During the chase between Delfshaven and Maas and Rotte, the suspect hit a pedestrian near the Lage Erfbrug. The victim was taken to the hospital. Eventually, the car came to a stop against an office building and the suspect was arrested. He will be presented to the examining magistrate on Monday. The 54-year-old passenger from Rotterdam was also arrested.
The police urgently seek witnesses to this pursuit to obtain a complete picture of the events. During the chase, the suspect hit multiple cars, causing damage. The police ask the owners of these vehicles to file a report.
