The officers were driving around 2:45 AM on Onze Lieve Vrouwenstraat in Zegge when they passed a car with a trailer. Since the time was not very logical for a trip to the recycling center, and because there was no license plate on the trailer, the officers decided to check the vehicle and the driver. This happened on A.M. de Jongstraat.

Errors on top of errors
The driver, a 39-year-old man from Sint Willebrord, immediately stated that he did not have a drivers license. The car was also not registered in the drivers name. Upon looking into the car, the officers saw that the man had burglary tools with him. According to the General Local Regulation, you are not allowed to have such tools during the night hours. It also turned out from the investigation that the car had stolen license plates. So, errors on top of errors. The man was arrested by the officers and taken to a police detention center. He is still being held for questioning.

The car was taken to the police station for further investigation. It was found that there were more license plates in the car. Where they came from is still being investigated. The officers are also further investigating the origin of the trailer, as it could not be traced in any way. It has been seized.
