Good Start in 2025
The EVA Team has tracked down and apprehended 28 convicted offenders in January and February of this year. The men and one woman range in age from 22 to 65 years. Most were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 60 days to 15 years.
The team found most individuals in their homes, with family, or at their girlfriends residence. Some were apprehended on their way to work or reported themselves to the police station. One person was about to board a flight to Dubai.
The individuals were convicted of various offenses, such as violation of the Opium Act, fraud, theft, assault, money laundering, exporting hard drugs, human trafficking, rape, and embezzlement. Initially, they could not be tracked down. Consequently, the EVA Team was asked to locate and apprehend them.
Arrest with Pepper Spray
A 29-year-old man was sought by a foreign court in connection with the Extradition Act. He had been sentenced to 1057 days in prison. The man was incorrectly registered at an address in the Netherlands and was found to be staying with his girlfriend, who was also incorrectly registered. Ultimately, the team located the individual and was able to subdue him using pepper spray. He was extradited to the relevant country.
The EVA Team
The EVA Team is actively engaged in the detection and apprehension of convicted offenders who attempt to evade their imposed sentences for the police unit in The Hague. Convictions for robberies, burglaries, and street crimes are prioritized in the tracking of individuals for the EVA Team, but in cases of compensation measures or imposed fines, a convicted individual can also expect a visit from the EVA Team.
