The police unit National Expertise and Operations received a report via the Coast Guard on Saturday evening. They saw a rhib boat in trouble about 70 kilometers off the coast. The boat had engine failure and could no longer sail. A rescue boat from the KNRM picked up the rhib boat and brought it to the port of Scheveningen. The boat and skipper were checked by the police, during which the narcotics were found. The skipper was arrested on suspicion of trafficking and the import and export of narcotics. This involves 145 kilograms of hashish with a street value of approximately 1.5 million euros. The drugs have been seized. The police are conducting further investigation.
