The control focused on increasing traffic safety and addressing dangerous behavior on the road. Although traffic was busy, it became clear that many road users did not follow the rules. For example, one driver was fined for driving under the influence of alcohol and one for operating a motor vehicle without a license.
Five drivers could not show their drivers license because they did not have it with them. Six people were using their mobile phones while driving, and four motorists were not wearing seat belts. Additionally, five moped and scooter riders entered a road with a closure notice, and four drivers turned off without signaling. Fines were issued for all these violations.
Two drivers were also fined for ignoring a stop sign, and we confiscated a moped that had no chassis number or license plate. We could not determine on site whether the moped was stolen, so we took it for further investigation.
During the inspection of fatbikes, multiple violations were found: several vehicles were speeding, had a throttle, or were technically not in order. For example, brakes were not working and lighting was defective. Such defects pose a risk not only to the driver but also to other road users.
Improving Traffic Safety
We conduct controls to contribute to safer traffic. We hope that conversations with road users have increased awareness of their responsibility on the road. By addressing violations and speaking to drivers about their driving behavior, the police aim to prevent traffic accidents. The police will continue to carry out similar controls in the future to further improve traffic safety in the region.
