Both suspects, a 34-year-old man from Stadskanaal and a 68-year-old woman from Vlagtwedde, were in a car and were covered in yellow paint splatters. Officers had previously observed that numerous acts of vandalism had been committed with yellow paint in the immediate vicinity of Westerveld and Weststellingwerf. Both individuals were arrested on suspicion of vandalism and detained for further questioning. They are still in custody.
