On the night of Tuesday, August 19, a fire was set in the so-called Dieventoren at Muurhuizen. That same night, a sofa that was left out for bulk waste was also set on fire.

The fires were extinguished by alert local residents. This prevented the flames from spreading further and causing damage to the surrounding monumental buildings. No one was injured.

Investigation
Based on surveillance footage from the area, the two boys were identified. They have been arrested and released after questioning. Both boys remain suspects in the ongoing investigation.
