At around 10:30 AM, the police received a report from a resident who found an explosive near a house on Camphuysenstraat in Groningen. Officers went to the scene and immediately started an investigation.
Investigation by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service
The area was cordoned off, and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD) arrived on the scene. After examining the object, it turned out to be an actual explosive. The EOD secured the object, transported it, and detonated it elsewhere.
Targeted Action
The police are conducting further investigations into who is responsible for leaving the explosive and what the motive was. Based on initial information, it appears to be a targeted action against a house in the nearby area. The police are in contact with the resident, who has been relocated for safety reasons.
Possible Connection
The police investigation continues. One of the scenarios being examined is a possible connection with the incident that occurred on Friday night to Saturday morning on Zonnelaan, where a 24-year-old man from Groningen was seriously injured. A 25-year-old man from the same town was arrested yesterday.
