Colleagues from the National Expertise and Operations unit (LX) had just seen a vehicle with German license plates driving on the A2. The car exhibited suspicious driving behavior, exited the highway at Nieuwegein, and entered a residential area. The officers saw that the driver had a meeting with another person. A large bag was handed over from a residence. Colleagues from the LX decided to stop and check the two involved individuals. Two bags of cash and loose stacks of banknotes were found. A 50-year-old man from Bulgaria and a 37-year-old man from Lithuania have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering. The cash and the cars have been seized.
