On Friday, December 13, 2024, and Sunday, December 22, 2024, an explosion occurred at a portico apartment building on Waddenzeestraat. Fortunately, no one was injured in either case. The portico door and the frame of the apartment building were damaged due to the explosions. Heavy fireworks were used in the explosions.
After intensive investigative research, the two suspects came into view of the police. They are two men aged 55 and 35, both from Den Helder. They are currently in custody and will be presented to the examining magistrate on Friday, April 4.
