On Thursday, the police had information that one of the later arrested individuals was in possession of a firearm. Officers tracked this individual down when he was in the company of two other people. It was decided to proceed with the arrest, which took place at Stationsplein.

During this arrest, the so-called approach technique for dangerous persons was used. The officers aimed their firearm at the three individuals, allowing them to be safely arrested and checked for weapon possession.

Ultimately, a 22-year-old man from the municipality of Noordenveld and a 21-year-old man without a fixed residence were arrested for illegal weapon possession. A firearm and a knife were found on them. The third person who was arrested was only heard as a witness and was subsequently released.

The 22-year-old and 21-year-old men are in custody and will be questioned about their involvement. The investigation continues.
