Assault - Lammermarkt – Leiden

On Friday evening, August 15, at approximately 9:40 PM, an assault took place at the Lammermarkt in Leiden. Prior to the assault, the suspect was weaving on the sidewalk while shouting and insulting bystanders. A 26-year-old man from Leiden confronted the suspect about his behavior. The suspect put down his bike, rushed at the man who confronted him, and punched him in the face. The victim sustained eye injuries. The suspect fled after the assault, and the police in Team West are asking for help in identifying him.

Animal Abuse – Wijngaardenlaan – Voorschoten

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, at approximately 11:00 PM, a cat arrived home severely injured on Wijngaardenlaan in Voorschoten. The animal was last seen around 3:15 PM near the intersection of Wijngaardenlaan and Crocusstraat. The police believe the cat was abused. The injuries were so severe that the cat had to be euthanized. The investigation into the circumstances is ongoing, and the police would like to get in touch with anyone who may have information relevant to this case.
