The aim of the operation is to show the residents of Delfshaven that we are there for them and that we stand for safety and enforcement in the neighborhood. Therefore, a significant number of officers have been scheduled to be visibly present on the streets and to tackle misconduct, hoping that this will have a preventive effect.
Drunk Behind the Bar
Around Heemraadsplein, 176 people were searched preventively, and twenty vehicles and several hospitality establishments were checked. In one of the pubs, a barmaid was found drunk behind the bar. She also had speed on her and had used it. Since the manager was not present, an administrative report was made. This will be shared with the municipality.
In another pub, it turned out that no manager was present. Furthermore, empty pony packs, bags where drugs are stored, were found, and cannabis was seized. In two other pubs, illegal cigarettes were found. In a café, a baseball bat was found behind the bar and a visitor had pepper spray. This suspect was arrested. A knife was found on another person, for which a fine was issued.
“Firearm”
On Nieuwe Binnenweg, a colleague saw an object resembling a firearm. This turned out to be a water gun. During the inspection, the owner threw it on the ground and stomped it, making it impossible to seize. He received a fine for this.
In the Middellandplein area, a drug dealer and buyer were arrested. A bundle of drugs was found. Additionally, 24 fines were issued for violations of General Local Regulations (APV) such as nuisance, smoking, and drinking in public.
Tuned Fatbike
During traffic checks on Franselaan in Rotterdam, 22 various fines were issued for, among other things, double parking, using a mobile phone while driving, and running a red light. Twenty vehicles were checked, and a Fatbike was seized because it was found to be modified.
Ten so-called buying companies were checked, some of which received a verbal warning for not properly keeping, filling out, or providing the buyers register. At one company, several vapes and flavored cartridges were seized.
