At around 05:35 AM, the police received a report that the windows of a jeweler on Nieuwe Uilenburgerstraat were being smashed. As the officers headed to the reported location, they came face to face with two men on a scooter during their escape. The stun gun was used in the process. The suspects managed to escape on the scooter, but were shortly thereafter cornered and arrested in Jodenbreestraat. One of the suspects was slightly injured and was taken to the hospital for examination. After being checked, he, like the other suspect, was detained in a cell complex. Nothing was taken during the burglary. The fleeing scooter was found to be stolen and has been seized.
