The police discovered the drug lab through a confidential report (TCI-tip). Based on the information that had been gathered, it was decided that heavily armed officers from the Special Intervention Service (DSI) would enter the premises. When drug labs are found, a building or house is often first entered by the DSI because they are specially trained and equipped to protect themselves against dangerous substances.
During this ‘entry’ by the DSI, a drug lab in preparation was found. This lab was not yet operational at the time of discovery but was nearly ready. No people were found in the building. The suspects in this case, a 38-year-old man from Papendrecht and a 50-year-old man from Dordrecht, were arrested in early March on suspicion of preparing to produce hard drugs. They have been sent home pending the investigation but are still suspects in the case.

How does TCI work?
The Criminal Intelligence Team (TCI) is a special department of the police where you can report confidentially. As the only department in the police, TCI is allowed to shield its sources. The TCI is trained in shielding their sources, making contact secretly, and gathering information. If you report to TCI, your identity remains secret. TCI can also pay tip rewards for information.
