In the morning hours of Dia di Rincon, the Directorate of Supervision and Enforcement of the Public Body Bonaire (OLB), the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Brigade (BKCN), and the Caribbean Netherlands Police Corps (KPCN), together with the organizing committee of Dia di Rincon, conducted inspections at vendors.
Inspections were conducted to ensure compliance with safety and permit conditions. The following aspects were monitored:
- Whether there was sufficient distance between tents and stands to limit nuisance and fire hazards.
- Whether only small gas cylinders were used, correctly placed outside the stands, and equipped with safe connections.
- Whether fire extinguishing equipment, such as a fire extinguisher or a garden hose, was present at stands where cooking or grilling was done.
- Whether cooking appliances and electrical devices were turned off when not in use.
- Whether no objects were attached to traffic signs, lamp posts, or monuments.
- Whether access routes for emergency services were free of obstacles.
- Whether no glass bottles or breakable dishes were used.
Additionally, extra attention was paid to food safety. The hygienic conditions were checked, and the temperature of hot and frozen food was measured. Where necessary, vendors were addressed, and they made immediate adjustments.
The services express their appreciation for the constructive attitude and cooperation of the vendors. Throughout the day, follow-up inspections will be conducted at various times, with the aim of supporting a safe and orderly celebration of Dia di Rincon.
