Ten new trainees recently started at the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Corps (BKCN). They were selected after an intensive process including fitness tests, screenings, and multiple interview rounds. In September, they will begin a one-year firefighter training program that prepares them for a career as a firefighter on our islands.
In the coming weeks, the trainees will carefully get acquainted with the corps and the work field. This soft introduction helps them to become familiar with the organization, even before the training officially starts.
Also, two trainees from Sint Eustatius and one from Saba will soon join the group. This ensures that readiness is maintained on all three islands. BKCN continuously invests in well-trained firefighting personnel who are ready day and night to assist residents with fires, accidents, and other emergencies.
By investing now in training and guidance, BKCN is building the safety of tomorrow. A reliable emergency service starts with motivated and well-prepared colleagues. They are the new generation of firefighters on our islands, and we can all be proud of that.
