In the first week of August, the Foundation for Reclassering Caribbean Netherlands launches a campaign to better inform youth and parents about youth criminal law, particularly about youth reclassering. Through social media, radio, and information sessions in schools, the campaign illustrates what happens when a young person comes into contact with justice and how youth reclassering supports this.

The message is clear: making mistakes can happen, but how you deal with them makes the difference.

The campaign consists of messages on social media, two broadcasts of the radio program Keda Informa (August 28 and September 4), and guest lessons in schools. The broadcasts will cover what youth reclassering entails and what youth and their parents can expect when supervision and guidance are needed.

“I hope the message truly resonates with youth and their parents. Thats what we are here for,” said Eric Sinke, director of Reclassering CN.

The campaign targets youth receiving supervision and guidance, youth at risk, and parents wanting to support their child. On the website of the Foundation for Reclassering CN, practical tools are available to set goals, keep agreements, and deal with difficult situations.
