The Caribbean Netherlands Judicial Institution (JICN), Plenchi di Trabou, and the Caribbean Netherlands Reclassifying Foundation have signed renewed cooperation agreements. With these agreements, they strengthen their collaboration in the field of labor guidance and support.
By properly guiding (ex-)inmates to work, we reduce the chance of relapse and increase the chance of a successful return to society. Work provides structure, self-esteem, and perspective.
Within JICN, case managers and the Reintegration Center (RIC) play an important role. The RIC helps inmates prepare well for their return to society, for example through work or education.
The job coaches from Plenchi di Trabou and the supervisors from the reclassification are also actively involved. By working better together, they can guide people earlier and more effectively from detention to after release.
“Only by working together can we truly help (ex-)inmates find a place in society again,” say the three organizations jointly.
