Bonaire – Care and Youth Caribbean Netherlands (ZJCN) has signed a two-year agreement with the airline Medicair for the execution of medical emergency flights from the Caribbean Netherlands. The agreement guarantees the continuity of fast and reliable medical evacuations for insured individuals from Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba.
Medicair is an experienced air carrier and has been providing air ambulance flights for the residents of the Caribbean Netherlands for over ten years. This contract provides a stable solution for the regional air transport of patients in medical emergencies. Additionally, an alternative remains available via SARPA if Medicair unexpectedly cannot perform a flight.
ZJCN, Medicair, and Fundashon Mariadal (FM) work closely together to ensure the flights run efficiently. FM deploys its own medical personnel on the flights, and the planning of the flights is also managed by the hospital.
With this collaboration, ZJCN takes an important step in strengthening emergency medical dispatches in the Caribbean Netherlands.
