Three young professionals compete for the title Monument Talent 2025. An expert jury with broad knowledge of monument care selected this years finalists:
- Merel Spruit (Hylkema Heritage)
- Thomas van Engelshoven (Legemaat van Elst)
- Emile Castelain (Efteling)
Jury and Award Ceremony
A jury of experts from the monument sector selected the finalists based on a visible sign of a passionate and distinctive vision on heritage and/or monument care. During the National Monuments Congress on November 13, 2025, the jury will announce which finalist is the winner of the Monument Talent Award.
The jury consists of Susan Lammers (Cultural Heritage Agency), Henk Hoogeveen (Province of Gelderland), Eefje van Duin (Monument Watches Drenthe, Flevoland, Fryslân & Overijssel) and Joachim van Assema (Construction Company Holleman and Sons Santpoort BV).
About the Monument Talent Award
To stimulate rejuvenation and innovation in the heritage sector, the Monument Talent Award was established as an annual encouragement prize. It specifically targets young professionals (up to 32 years old) who perform paid work in the Dutch monument sector. The winner receives a unique and customizable development trajectory worth 3000 euros. The other two finalists each receive 1500 euros for the same purpose.
