The A10 East from junction Watergraafsmeer to junction Amstel will reopen for traffic on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 5:00 AM. The major maintenance carried out over the past fifteen days has been completed.

Since Friday, September 19, 2025, the A10 East towards Amsterdam-Zuid has been closed due to major maintenance. In fifteen days, the asphalt and joints were replaced, and repairs were made to the guardrails and noise barriers. The project schedule included a buffer, which turned out to be unnecessary, allowing the road to open a day earlier.

End of Peak Period A10

The major maintenance on the A10 East was the last project in the peak period with significant disruption due to works and events in and around Amsterdam, from May to October. During this period, we worked successively on the A1, A10 South and East outer ring, A4, second Coentunnel, and the A10 East inner ring. Additionally, there were major events this summer such as the Festival on the Ring, NATO summit, and SAIL.

Upcoming Works Autumn 2025

In the coming months, the work on major construction projects in and around Amsterdam will continue. There will still be various weekend closures this autumn for the road widening project A9 Badhoevedorp-Holendrecht and Zuidasdok project on the A10 South. The major renewal task of Rijkswaterstaat will also continue in 2026 and the following years. Much of our infrastructure was built in the 1950s and 1960s and is due for renovation. So, always be well-prepared for your journey and consult the website Rijkswaterstaat traffic information before departure.
