Smart Travel Challenge Liemers & Arnhem

Originally, both actions were to last until July 31, 2025. The Smart Travel Challenge Liemers & Arnhem now has over 1,000 participants. Due to the many works on the A12 and elsewhere in the region, travelers are increasingly looking for options to travel differently. This will also be necessary in the coming months.

By traveling smart, cycling, using public transport, traveling outside rush hours, or working from home, participants earn points in the Challenge. They can exchange these points for gift vouchers from companies like Bol and Ikea or donate them to local charities. Participation in the Challenge can happen at any time and is free.

Trial Action

In recent months, nearly 300 travelers in the region have tried an e-bike or speed pedelec. In particular, the speed pedelecs are popular. Because there is still high demand for trying an e-bike or speed pedelec, this action will certainly continue until November. The great advantage of this action is the trial period: travelers may try an e-bike or speed pedelec for free for 2 weeks. If they like it and want to buy an e-bike or speed pedelec afterward, they will receive a €300 discount on the purchase and accessories.

About A12 Smart Travel

The Challenge and trial are organized by the program A12 Smart Travel . In this program, businesses, governments, and educational institutions from the A12 region work together on the accessibility and livability of the region. They do this by encouraging travelers and companies to travel differently along the A12 Arnhem-German border route.

The A12 Smart Travel project is part of Slim & Schoon On the Way , the regional program for a cleaner and better accessible region.
