On Friday, September 5, two of the four lanes from the A16 to the A20 at the Terbregseplein junction were closed. The closure was necessary because an inspection revealed that the roof of a water cellar beneath the connecting roads was no longer safe.

A temporary structure was placed in the water cellar late Friday evening to support the roof, and the lanes could be reopened.

This involved one of the two lanes in the connecting arc to Gouda and one of the two lanes in the connecting arc to Hoek van Holland. A plan for permanent restoration is now being developed.
