The Haringvliet Bridge (A29) has been experiencing various malfunctions since Sunday, May 11, 2025. The investigation into the cause is still ongoing. All possible causes are being investigated and subsequently ruled out.
On Friday, May 23, the bridge will be closed for all road traffic between 8:00 PM and 11:59 PM. The bridge will be opened and closed multiple times during this period for inspection and to find a solution.
Starting Friday, May 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM, there will be no openings for high shipping until further notice. We expect to provide an update on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Investigation Haringvliet Bridge
- The A29 will be closed on Friday, May 23, 2025, between 8:00 PM and 11:59 PM from exit Oud-Beijerland to junction Hellegatsplein.
- Road traffic will be diverted via the N217, A15, A16, A17 and A59 and vice versa.
- The Kiltunnel will be toll-free on Friday, May 23, 2025, between 8:00 PM and 11:59 PM.
- High shipping can navigate via the standard diversion route via the Spui, the Oude Maas and Dordtse Kil.
- It has been agreed with the emergency services that they can always pass the bridge for priority 1 missions.
- Agreements have also been made with public transport services regarding passage.
- Slow traffic (cyclists/pedestrians/mopeds/scooters/mobility scooters) can cross the bridge, with a maximum waiting time of 30 minutes.
