After the successful completion of the new overflow dam in early 2025, we will start the repair of the Bosscherveld bridge at the end of August. This is an important next step in improving the infrastructure in the area.
The aim is to have the bridge fully completed by mid-2026. In the past period, alongside the construction of the new overflow dam, several works have been carried out: the stranded houseboat has been removed, the bank has been restored with broken stone, and the work area for these activities has been cleared.
Works on the Stuwweg Bridge
We are finalizing the definitive design for the repair of the bridge at Stuwweg. The preparations and work plans are almost completed, and execution will start at the end of August.
In the 1st phase, we will apply ground protection and realize a new central pillar. The realization of the new central pillar will partly take place during the upcoming high water season, which begins in October.
Subsequently, a support structure will be built so that work can continue on the bridge decks during the high water season. Due to the longer delivery time of the bridge girders, the full completion of the bridge is expected to take place in 2026. However, this will not affect the accessibility of the Stuwweg, as the temporary bridge will remain operational.
