The Public Works and Water Management has provided the hoisting towers of the ferry terminals of Texel and Den Helder with a new layer of paint. The towers look neat again. They are also better able to withstand weather influences.

Contractor De Jong Zuurmond has not only painted the hoisting towers but also the electricity house next to the tower and a part of the retaining wall in Den Helder. The railings will be addressed at a later time.

Major Maintenance of the Ferry Terminals

The painting work is part of a series of maintenance activities that will be carried out this year and next year within the ferry terminals. Earlier, we replaced the hoisting cables of the traffic bridges in the hoisting towers.

With the maintenance work, we ensure that the ferry terminals can be used safely until we eventually replace both landing facilities.
