Starting from August 26, 2025, the first people will receive an invitation for the corona vaccination. The RIVM will send invitations until mid-October to people aged 60 and older. The corona vaccination will be given from September 15 to December 5, 2025, at vaccination locations of the GGD Municipal Health Service (Municipal Health Service) throughout the country.

Extra protection for risk groups

The coronavirus is still present and can resurge. The corona vaccination provides people at higher risk of becoming seriously ill from corona with extra protection against hospitalization or death due to corona.

Invitation Letter

Everyone aged 60 and over will receive a letter from the RIVM. For people who received a corona vaccination last year at the GGD Municipal Health Service (Municipal Health Service), there will already be a proposal for an appointment included. Others will be invited in the letter to make an appointment themselves at the GGD. This can be done via planjeprik.nl or 0800-7070.

Making an Appointment Without a Letter

Adults aged 50 to 59 who receive an annual invitation for the flu vaccination can also receive a corona vaccination. This also applies to children and adults with a high medical risk, such as those with a serious immune deficiency. More information can be found via high medical risk groups. Health care workers who work with vulnerable patients are also eligible for a corona vaccination. These groups do not receive an invitation letter from the RIVM. They can make an appointment themselves via planjeprik.nl or by calling 0800-7070.

Adults and children who do not belong to the target group but who, for example, have a vulnerable family member or want a corona vaccination on the advice of a treating physician, can also receive a corona vaccination.

Advice to Prevent Respiratory Infections

Some people can become very ill from a coronavirus, flu virus, or cold virus. Therefore, it remains important for everyone to follow the advice to prevent respiratory infections.

GGD Vaccination Locations

On September 15, the GGD will start administering the corona vaccination. Vaccination will continue until December 5 with the mRNA vaccine from Pfizer/BioNTech. The vaccine is tailored to the coronavirus variants expected to be most prevalent.

Residents of care institutions will receive the corona vaccination in the institution itself. They will receive more information about this from the care institution.

People who, due to a serious illness, condition, or disability, cannot go to a GGD vaccination location by themselves or with the help of others, can receive the corona vaccination at home in special cases. They can contact the GGD at 0800-7070 starting today.
