The 3D sound model helps the sound expert calculate environmental noise. The dataset of this model has now been updated and contains current data up to January 1, 2023. For example, regarding buildings that have been constructed, renovated, or demolished. Adjustments in the Basic Registration Large-Scale Topography (BGT) have also been processed up to this reference date in the soil areas. For height information, AHN4 has been used.

This is what it looks like

The 3D image of the Utrecht Science Park Bilthoven shows that each building has its own height. Where a building varies in height, it is segmented. With the sound calculation programs or GIS Geographic Information System (Geographic Information System)-software, beautiful visualizations can be created.

The dataset was created by RIVM, Kadaster, and TU Technical University (Technical University)-Delft, commissioned by the Ministry of IenW Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management). It is part of the 3D innovation platform (external link). Various partners are collaborating on the 3D dataset for the Netherlands.
