From Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 6 PM, the National Heat Plan is no longer active in the provinces of North Holland, Flevoland, Friesland, Groningen, and Drenthe. In other provinces, the heat plan is still in effect. The KNMI (Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute) and the RIVM continue to monitor the situation.

With the National Heat Plan, the RIVM informs organizations, professionals, and informal caregivers about the expected heat. They can take this into account in supporting and interacting with vulnerable groups, such as the elderly and small children. This helps reduce and, where possible, prevent discomfort and health problems.
