The results of in-depth analyses conducted by Nivel on the Corona Health Monitor for Adults and Elderly 2022 have now been published in the scientific journal Journal of Psychiatric Research as a scientific article.
As with the previously published Dutch factsheet (Post-Traumatic Stress Symptoms During the Coronapandemic Among Adults in the Netherlands: In-Depth Analyses of Corona Health Monitor for Adults and Elderly 2022. | Nivel (external link)), the main conclusion of the article is that half of the individuals with a suspected post-traumatic stress disorder have symptoms caused by intense events directly related to the coronapandemic. For the other half, symptoms were caused by experiencing non-corona-related intense events (e.g., a life-threatening accident or sexual violence).
Research Program on the Effects of the Corona Crisis on Health
For five years (2021-2025), the Network GOR collects information about the effects of the coronapandemic on the health and happiness of people in the Netherlands. This research program is called the Integrated Health Monitor COVID-19. The monitor shows what the mental and physical health is at a certain moment in the Netherlands and how it changes over time. Policymakers can develop better policies with this current knowledge. Regular discussions are also held with, among others, experience experts, specialists, and healthcare and education professionals.
