On behalf of the Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT), RIVM has advised on the scientific quality and traceability of the note ‘Analysis of Chemours Contribution to the Exposure of SVHC Substances of Very High Concern (Substances of Very High Concern)’, prepared by Witteveen+Bos on behalf of Chemours. The note, dated April 3, 2025, is intended for residents and other stakeholders.
The note provides insight into the exposure and health risks of residents due to activities of Chemours. The analysis focuses on the spread of very high concern substances (SVHC Substances of Very High Concern (Substances of Very High Concern)) through the air, makes a selection of substances and standards, and presents the results of calculations.
According to RIVM, however, the note does not describe what was calculated and what data was used. As a result, the accuracy of the results cannot be verified.
