In the autumn round of 2025, a total of 2,253,476 COVID-19 vaccinations were registered at the RIVM. For people aged 60 and over, the vaccination rate is 41.7%. The vaccination rate varies by age group and region. The COVID-19 vaccine was available and recommended until December 5, 2025, for people aged 60 and over, people aged 50 to 59 who receive an annual flu shot invitation, children and adults who are at high risk of severe illness from COVID-19 (for example, due to a serious immune disorder), and healthcare workers who have direct contact with vulnerable patients. It was also possible for people outside these groups who still wanted to be vaccinated, for example due to a vulnerable family member or on the advice of a treating physician, to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
