The European Commission has made a total of € 204 million available within the 2nd series of calls of the Digital Europe Programme 2025-2027. The new funding calls focus on the digitization of businesses, digital skills, healthcare, public administration, and the automotive industry.

The funding is divided among various themes. The budget allocation is as follows:

  • € 79.2 million for strengthening and € 8 million for completing the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs, which help businesses with digitization.
  • € 22.5 million for biomedical research and the rollout of personalized healthcare.
  • € 14.4 million for the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in medical imaging.
  • € 9 million for sharing industrial data.
  • € 4.5 million for the establishment of the European Connected and Automated Vehicle Alliance (ECAVA).
  • € 6 million for combating misinformation via the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) hubs.
  • € 15 million for the development of EU Digital Identity Wallets (this call is only open for projects that have previously received funding through the Digital Europe Programme) and mobile driving licenses. 

When to apply?

The first calls (EU Digital Identity Wallet and mobile driving licenses) are now open and close on December 9, 2025. The remaining calls will open on November 4, 2025, and close on March 3, 2026. 

Additional national funding  

Through the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), additional budget (national co-financing) from the Dutch government is available for topics that are not fully funded by the European programme. With this co-financing, you as a Dutch party can receive a larger part of your project costs reimbursed.
