Many owners associations (VvEs) are still delaying the installation of charging points. However, it is important that they consider this and prepare for a new law. This law will make it easier for VvEs to install charging points. It is expected to come into effect in mid-2026. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and partners participated in 10 information days. They helped VvEs take steps towards having their own charging points.
Discussing Charging Points
The new law, the notification scheme for charging points for VvEs (NOV), allows each VvE member to install their own charging point. To inform about this, RVO participated with a booth at the VvE Belang Information Days. RVO did this together with partners the National Charging Infrastructure Agenda (NAL) and vveladen.nl. Besides informing, the parties also listened to concerns from VvE board members. For example, about private charging facilities and the fire safety of electric cars. The days took place in September, October, and November 2025 at 5 locations in the Netherlands.
Preparations for the Notification Scheme
RVO and partners gave these advices to VvEs to prepare for the NOV:
- Find information via VvEladen.nl. This is the central information point for VvEs who want to work with charging facilities.
- Raise the importance of this topic in the General Members Meeting (ALV).
- Request charging point advice through a consultant. Objective information about the fire safety of electric cars is also included.
- Apply for the Subsidy scheme for sustainability for owners associations (SVVE). For example, to have charging stations installed together as VvE members.
Applying for SVVE
The goal at the VVE information days was also to inform VvEs about the SVVE. This subsidy scheme helps VvEs to establish charging infrastructure. VvEs can receive a subsidy for 75% of the advisory costs (maximum €1,500) for charging point advice. They also receive €100 for the installation of basic charging infrastructure for each parking space to be connected.
