Dutch bio-energy sector leading worldwide

The Netherlands holds a strong international position in the production of biofuels. We also lead in the storage and supply of biofuels and energy, with deep-sea ports in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Additionally, the Dutch sector is globally known for its innovative solutions and close cooperation within the chain.

Bio-Energy Guide 2025: Creating Value in the Biobased Economy

This English-language guide highlights the strength of the Dutch bio-energy sector. It contains experiences and solutions the Netherlands offers regarding bio-energy, the latest developments in the sector, and over 80 company profiles.

The guide is distributed among the international network of the Dutch government. This network consists of Dutch embassies, consulates-general, and trade offices (NBSO’s) abroad. They use the guide to promote the Dutch bio-energy sector to potential foreign business partners.

Industry organizations and Top Sectors can also use the guide to present the Dutch bio-energy sector to international stakeholders, for example at foreign trade fairs.

The guide is the result of a public-private partnership within the trade promotion program International Clean Energy Partnership (ICEP) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was compiled by RVO and its partners Platform Bio-Economy and ChemistryNL.
