On May 21, the first edition of the International Hydrogen Guide 2025 was officially launched. This fifth edition presents the Dutch hydrogen sector to an international audience. The launch took place at Ahoy Rotterdam during the World Hydrogen Summit. During this three-day event, the domestic and international hydrogen sectors meet for knowledge and inspiration.
The launch of the guide took place during the networking reception at the NL Pavilion of the exhibition floor. Various organizations involved in the guide made a valuable contribution – as if it were a puzzle to which everyone contributed a piece. From left to right: Jörg Gigler (TKI Nieuw Gas), Lotte Schippers (RVO), Fabian Benschop (Voyex), Eric Rath (Fluidwell Hydrogen Systems), Marc Hasselaar (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and Magrita Noordmans (FME).
Hydrogen Guide 2025: Excelling in Hydrogen: Solutions for a Sustainable World
This English-language export guide for the hydrogen sector includes:
- the latest developments in hydrogen in the Netherlands;
- a visualization of the hydrogen value chain;
- more than 270 company profiles.
To bring the Dutch hydrogen sector to international attention, we also distribute the guide among the international network of the Dutch government.
This edition focuses more on hydrogen infrastructure and the importance of hydrogen imports. There is extra attention to earning capacity and energy security, and also for the larger role of blue hydrogen.
The hydrogen guide is the result of a public-private partnership within the trade promotion program International Clean Energy Partnership (ICEP) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has been compiled by RVO, FME, and Top Sector Energy (TKI Nieuw Gas).

The Netherlands on the Map as a Hydrogen Country
In addition to the hydrogen guide, there is also an interactive online hydrogen map that provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of hydrogen activities in the Netherlands. The map has been developed by Mission H2 and TKI Nieuw Gas.
The Innovation Power of the Sector
With the guide and the map, the Dutch hydrogen sector seeks international collaborations and trade. The tools show the foreign market what experiences and solutions the Netherlands can offer regarding hydrogen. Thus, we showcase the innovation power of the Dutch hydrogen sector.
