Many entrepreneurs and researchers are committed to the circular economy. They can apply for various subsidy schemes at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). The offerings for 2026 have changed.

Topic CE

Many subsidies are available at RVO, including those for the circular economy (CE). The offerings for 2026 differ from those in 2025. Some schemes will not reopen in 2026, while others will. Thanks to subsidy schemes, entrepreneurs can take the next step in circular entrepreneurship, now and in the future. Examples include the Testing Circular Biopolyesters (STCB) and Circular Plastics NL (CPNL) subsidies.

Subsidies in 2026

On Financial support for circular projects, you can see which schemes CE entrepreneurs and researchers can apply for in 2026.

The following schemes will not open for applications in 2026:

All projects in the above schemes that are still running or have already been awarded will continue as usual.

Opportunities for Circular Entrepreneurs

There are many opportunities for entrepreneurs and organizations with a circular idea or project. Entrepreneurs apply for the CPNL if they contribute to an economy where products and materials are used fairly and sparingly. For example, they work with partners to recycle plastic. Or consider the STCB. This subsidy is for SMEs active (or wanting to be active) in the production chain of bio-based polyesters (based on carbohydrates of plant, animal, or microbiological origin). Entrepreneurs often test innovations within their own company. This can be done through the Demonstration Energy and Climate Innovation (DEI+) subsidy. This subsidy is for entrepreneurs who recycle materials or adapt installations for recycled materials.
