Farmers and growers are dealing with residual flows. Think of manure, crop residues, and contaminated water. Entrepreneurs can develop sustainable solutions for this by signing up as chain directors of the project From residual flow to profit. This way, the residual flows of future-proof food crops grown in the Netherlands are limited and made sustainable. Registration is open until September 29.
Attention to residual flows
For Dutch farmers and growers, cultivating future-proof crops is not always profitable. Chickpeas are an example of this. Most attention goes to product development and challenges in cultivation. The chain director of the project From residual flow to profit changes this. The director collaborates with all chain partners and develops sustainable solutions to utilize residual flows, such as preventing water pollution.
From residual flow to profit
The project From residual flow to profit contributes to:
- climate resilience and circular economy
- new ways to use residual flows beneficially
- strengthening the earning model of chain players
Joint solutions
The first step of the project is to identify important residual flows in food crops. The next step is to develop joint solutions. For example, helping to establish a profitable cultivation of food crops. The focus is on developing good collaborations between chain parties. Ultimately, this leads to upcycling or preventing large residual flows among farmers, growers, or other chain parties.
Contribute
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is the client of this project. The chain director ensures development towards national and European legislation. Would you like to contribute to developing future-proof crops and are you considering becoming a chain director?
