The Netherlands is laying a solid foundation for charging points accessible to everyone. However, growth brings new challenges. Therefore, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is investigating how future regulations can be improved. RVO is doing this together with the National Charging Infrastructure Agenda (NAL).

Research Phases

The research consists of 3 phases. RVO and NAL have completed the first 2 phases of this research. Both the strong foundation of the Dutch market and the challenges for the next growth phase are clearly highlighted. The research partners also looked at examples from other countries and sectors, where uniform standards and clear regulations ensure better user experiences.

The final phase of the research will start in early 2026. In this phase, RVO and NAL will develop possible solutions and recommendations.
