More and more entrepreneurs are working circularly, for example by separating waste streams and turning used materials into raw materials. Raw materials can be used for new products when they obtain the status of end-of-waste. Soon, a project will start to help raw material suppliers and their customers obtain this status more quickly. For this project, we are looking for a chain manager.
End-of-waste status needed
Circular entrepreneurs need the end-of-waste certification to comply with legislation. For example, when they deliver and export reused materials. The certification indicates that a product or material has left the waste phase and can be reused as a raw material. To determine whether a product has this status, it must meet certain requirements.
Tool accelerates self-assessment of raw materials
The chain manager of this project helps raw material suppliers and their buyers to obtain the certification more quickly. Part of the approach is the self-assessment raw materials tool. This helps entrepreneurs to estimate whether they can obtain an end-of-waste status for a particular waste or product stream. They can also apply for the certification through the tool.
Easier to apply for end-of-waste status
The self-assessment raw materials tool has been around for a while, but entrepreneurs do not use it often. Entrepreneurs do not use the tool because they do not know the route to self-assess raw materials. They also do not know what risks are associated with recycling raw materials. For example, how the risk assessment works for recovered substances from difficult streams. Various assignments and studies ensure that entrepreneurs can find their information in the tool more quickly. The chain manager of this project will be heavily involved with national and European legislation. Ultimately, the overall approach will be more pleasant and quicker to use for entrepreneurs in the market.
