From August 25 to October 6, 2025, the Subsidy Program Responsible Entrepreneurship (SPVO) will be open for applications again. This scheme supports social sustainability and greening in the production chains of Dutch companies.

Social Themes

The European chain legislation requires a more active role from Dutch entrepreneurs abroad regarding corporate social responsibility. The subsidy program specifically focuses on 3 social themes: improving the income and wages of employees and (small) producers, combating child labor, and improving working conditions. The OECD guidelines for international CSR serve as the assessment framework.

New Theme: Greening

The theme of greening has been explicitly added to this new SPVO opening. Social and environmental themes are often interconnected. With the addition of the greening theme, we aim to encourage entrepreneurs to tackle social and environmental risks in their production chains in a cohesive manner. This may involve using natural resources more efficiently or preserving biodiversity and the living environment. Measures to improve the well-being of local communities also fall under this. Greening measures must always contribute to the aforementioned social themes, such as higher incomes for local farmers or better working conditions, as in the case of regenerative agriculture.

Knowledge Exchange SPVO

Another new focus is on sharing knowledge of the lessons learned from the SPVO project with entrepreneurs in the sector through IMVO sector agreements or stakeholder initiatives. This way, companies that do not qualify for the SPVO subsidy can still access this knowledge.

Important Deadlines

  • Until September 8, 2025: submission of mandatory quickscan. Submitting a quickscan is mandatory before you can apply for a subsidy. Based on the quickscan, RVO provides binding advice.
  • From August 25 to October 6, 2025: submission of subsidy application. We will process incoming applications in the order of receipt.

In early February 2026, there will be a final opening under the current fund.
