For the first time, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) is opening a subsidy for partnerships conducting research on nuclear energy. Or developing innovations, such as new types of reactors that are more sustainable. This is necessary to meet climate goals. The pre-registration for Mission-Driven Research and Development (MOOI) Nuclear Energy opens on September 15.
From Interest Survey to Subsidy
This subsidy for nuclear energy is a follow-up to an interest survey that took place earlier this year. The responses showed that there is significant interest from businesses, knowledge institutions, and universities for the subsidy. Various parties are already preparing innovation projects that fit the scheme. This includes testing and developing new technologies for a reactor or possibilities for long-term storage of radioactive waste.
Nuclear Energy Needed for Climate Goals
Developing new techniques for nuclear energy is important for the future. Thanks to these techniques, we can use and expand nuclear energy in a responsible and safe manner. Nuclear energy can provide electricity without emitting harmful substances such as CO₂ (emission-free). We can also directly convert nuclear energy into other forms of energy, such as heat and hydrogen. This is an important step towards an affordable, reliable, sustainable, and safe energy supply. Nuclear energy thus plays a crucial role in achieving climate goals.
Information and Matchmaking
On September 11, RVO will organize an information session about this subsidy. During this session, interested companies and research organizations will learn more about the innovation themes, the conditions for receiving a subsidy, and the application process. There will also be an opportunity to meet other companies and explore whether they can form a partnership together. Only partnerships can apply for this subsidy.
Sign Up for the Meeting
