In South Holland, the West Nile virus has been found in a mosquito. The positively tested mosquito was a Culex pipiens/torrentium mosquito (common house mosquito), caught around September 5, 2025. The mosquito was found during an ongoing research project on viruses in mosquitoes in the Netherlands.
