Thank you for having me. Its promising to see architects and engineers across Europe collaborating. Housing is a priority for the Commission. Access to quality housing is a challenge and vital for social and sustainable growth. We must improve housing conditions and build resilient, high-quality dwellings.

The New European Bauhaus is an inspiring initiative supported by the Commission, enhancing the green transition in housing. It engages communities and prioritizes social inclusion, boosting competitiveness and autonomy.

As Commissioner for Demography, housing is crucial from student accommodations to nursing homes. Good design can help prevent the need for drastic changes as people age.

In the Mediterranean, sustainable urbanization through partnerships is key. We aim to create resilient and inclusive cities. Im working on a New Pact for the Mediterranean that nurtures space and includes local communities in decision-making.
