We allocate €500,000 to help restore the energy supply in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. With this contribution, we aim to mitigate the consequences of the war for the citys residents. The support is provided through the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG).

Damage to energy facilities has had major consequences for Kyiv residents in recent months. Power and heating frequently fail due to Russian attacks on infrastructure.

Reconstruction of facilities

The contribution fits within our policy to show solidarity with cities affected by the Russian invasion that began four years ago on February 24, 2022. It supports the rebuilding of basic services for citizens in Ukraine.

Support

We emphasize that the Municipality of Amsterdam continues to support the residents of Kyiv and Ukraine during this difficult period.
