Museumplein is the starting point of a large demonstration on Sunday, October 5th at 1:00 PM. The organization expects a massive turnout. Therefore, we are taking a number of traffic measures in the immediate vicinity of Museumplein and along the route. This will affect accessibility.

The area around Museumplein will be inaccessible to traffic from 10:30 AM. Traffic will be diverted here. Please account for longer travel times and possible delays on the diversion routes. The expected end time is 6:00 PM.

Q-Park Museumplein

Parking garage Q-Park Museumplein will be closed during the demonstration. It is not possible to enter or exit the parking garage.

Underpass Rijksmuseum closed for cyclists

Cyclists will not be able to pass under the Rijksmuseum from 10:30 AM. The passage under the museum will be closed until the end of the demonstration.

Public Transport

NS is running extra and longer trains to and from Amsterdam. Travelers are advised to check the NS travel planner for personalized travel advice before departure. Travelers from Utrecht and Leiden are best advised to travel via Amsterdam Central. Some tram and bus lines will not run or will take a modified route.

Metro

  • Metro 52 runs every 10 minutes between Station Noord and Zuid from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Tram

  • Trams 5, 12, and 24 will not run from 11:00 AM until the demonstration is over.
  • Tram 2 will take a shorter route between Nieuw Sloten and Hoofddorpplein.
  • Trams 1, 3, 4, 7, 14, 17, and 19 will take a modified route.*

Bus

  • Buses 15, 62, 357, and 397 will take a modified route.*
