We are working on new rules for roof extensions: the Note Roof - roof extensions. This way, you will know faster what is allowed and what is not when applying for a permit. You can now give your opinion on the proposal.

By simplifying the rules, owners, architects, and contractors will better understand what is allowed and what is not. This leads to quicker decisions on building plans. We also want to maintain the attractiveness of Haarlem neighborhoods. New roof extensions must fit well with existing buildings. This keeps the city beautiful and recognizable.

On the project page, you will find the draft Note Roof - roof extensions and a map with explanations. There you can see what changes and where the rules apply.

You can respond to the proposal until October 29, 2025. Please include your name, address, date, and the title Note Roof - roof extensions in your response.
