The Youth Desk Zaanstad has moved to the Saentoren in Zaandam. This is a central location in the city. Young people aged 12 to 27 can come here with questions or concerns. These questions can be about school or work, but also about money, housing, or problems at home. Sometimes you just want to talk to someone who listens. You can also come to the Youth Desk for that.
Why a special place for young people is important
Many young people feel pressure from school, work, money, or expectations. National studies show that many young people do not feel well. Yet they do not always know where to get help. The Youth Desk offers this help in Zaanstad. The support is free and intended to help young people move forward.
The Youth Desk supports you on many topics. For example, with money worries, looking for work, or choosing an education. Also, when you turn 18 and many things change, you can come here. In addition, there are workshops and training sessions that help you become more confident.
Alderman Natasja Groothuismink says: ‘In the Saentoren, the Youth Desk now has exactly the place it deserves: in the middle of the city and close to the lives of young people.’
The Youth Desk is also active online. There is a campaign on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. In this campaign, staff and young people tell their stories. They show how the Youth Desk helps and what it can mean for you.
